Transform your Perspective with my
Three Favorite Books

February 2, 2017

I am a life-long learner.  And my guess is, since you’re on my website reading my blog, you are too.  There’s something so delicious about learning as a adult.  We’re no longer driven by grades or due dates.  There’s a deeper drive that fuels us.  A human drive to Become More.

In my quest to Become More, I read, I listen to podcasts, I attend workshops and seminars in person and online.  I belong to master mind groups and I hire coaches to hold me accountable, both in my business and my personal life.

As a result, I grow.  And I have the joy of looking back at myself as a kindergartener in the Great School of Life and celebrating how far I have gone, since I now consider myself a 1st grader.  A long way to go?  Always.  But that excited me!  I have a love of learning at my core, and self-improvement as a result of any learning is definitely making the Honor Roll, even in 1st grade!

The One Thing has the ability to help you first clarify you purpose and then give you the steps to get there.  The practice is simple in concept but takes practice to make it part of your routine.  Please make sure to listen to The One Thing Podcast as a compliment to the book.  The website has complimentary pdfs as well as a chapter-by-chapter guide.

The Four Agreements was a gift from a life coach, and I will forever be grateful to her.  It changed the way that I reacted to other people by changing me from within.  Each of the agreements is powerful.  Together, they have the ability to shape your perspective on life.  The website has an online mastery course that I plan to take over the summer.  I’ll report back!

The final book is The Five Love Languages.  Borrowing from the first book on the list, if there is one thing you can do that would level up all of the relationships in your life, it would be to learn the love languages of the other person.  It definitely begins with learning you own.  My love language is acts of service, but I found that during the course of my relationship, that has begun to shift because my significant other now automatically does all the things that make me feel loved.   Time for me to take the quiz again!  It’s free and quick to complete.  The series also contains a book for military families as well as parents.
